Due to a security vulnerability, the update is being brought forward.
Starting August 19, 2026 August 14, 2026, the built-in editor for shared notes will switch from Etherpad to BlockNote. In BlockNote, notes are organized into blocks, similar to Notion. New elements and formatting options will be available, as well as the ability to import and export Markdown; the previous export formats will no longer be supported.
