On Tuesday, 11.08.2026, between 7-8 p.m. a software update of the eduVPN servers will take place. Due to the redundancy, there should be no significant disruptions - subject to unforeseeable events. Short interruptions to ongoing VPN connections are to be expected.
The display names of VPN resources in eduVPN will be slightly adjusted: The variant-labels “full” and “split” will be replaced by more descriptive alternatives “All via VPN” and “All TUD via VPN”. In addition the general “TUD VPN” will be extended by another variant “Public TUD via VPN”, in which only the public IP ranges of TUD are routed through the VPN tunnel. This is necessary to also provide guests from external organizations with practical access to the TUD network. Further details on the profile variants can be found in the FAQ [0].
