Security Update for All VMware Environments / Backup Downtime, July 30, 2026, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

On Thursday, July 30, 2026, critical security updates will be installed for the vCenter instances and ESXi hosts in all virtualization environments (Enterprise Cloud, Research Cloud, and ZIH Infrastructure Cluster) from 7:00 a.m. until approximately 5:00 p.m.

For the duration of the work, the entire backup and tape infrastructure must be shut down. In addition, VM management in the Self-Service-Portal and access to the vSphere Web Clients will be temporarily unavailable.

• Self-service portal / VM overviews
• vSphere web clients
• Backup / Restore
• Archiving
• SLUB-LZA
• HSM
• Microsoft Exchange
